I, like many other people today, read the article syndicated by the AP. It's pretty much the first time I've read something in major media that corresponds to my, non college educated, Midwestern, hardworking, common sense mindset. I have barely begun to dig through the text on this website, and for all I know it could all be hysterical conspiracy crap, but I'll decide for myself.

I'm very glad that I came to this site after googling FED up mentioned in the article. The most tangible benefit, for now, is that I found out about the I.O.U.S.A. movie. It's playing at a local theater tomorrow night along with the LIVE discussion with Warren Buffet and William Niskanen afterward. Hell, just the preview makes me want to get others to go with to watch. They won't though. That, is the crux of our dilemma. Most people, even the good ones, do not want to know if the sky is really falling (is it falling?. It reminds me of the occasional fiscal conversation I have with my fellow blue collar workers at the plant. These are all good people, but eventually it becomes obvious they are also "part of the problem" when little by little I find that one has recently refinanced his home to buy "stuff", another is in credit card debt to his eyeballs, thanks to a wife trying to "keep up w/ the Joneses", and another is pleased as punch that his child is putting herself so far in debt (as a student), because he doesn't have to pony up the $$ for her education, not that he planned to anyway. I fear this site might just be preaching to the choir, and I usually don't like preaching to the choir! So endeth the hymn.
